The Internet of Things (IoT) is arguably still in its minor stages of development. It hasn’t impacted the world as much as it is expected to do. Analysts have teamed up to try and predict where IoT will lead the world. Jason Hope, a futurist and entrepreneur, lists some of the things that the thinks the analysts are right about.
– The face of IoT is set to change. It won’t look the same as it does now a few years down the line. Hope argues on Tech.co that there are different approaches being used by different business models, most of them which are unique. This diversifies IoT.
– As much as IoT has already had little impacts in our lives, its full potential and value haven’t yet been realized. Jason Hope writes that in a few years, IoT will add more value to our way of living. For instance, Kroger has employed the use of smart refrigerators to help store their products. These equipment are sustainable, and save a lot, since they work to minimize the amount of electricity used to maybe open the doors of the refrigerator.
– How people behave on the road is something that is going to be affected. By 2020, over 20% of the vehicles on the road will be connected. With them being able to communicate, the chances of accidents occurring will be minimized to almost nil. People will be able to use their phones as they drive, not having to worry about who or what they will hit.
– IoT will be a big part of our lives that we will even stop recognizing it as a thing. With everything connected, IoT is going to be perfectly normal, and part of everyone’s life. The wow it brings will stop being memorable.
